Gadsden, Ala (March 12, 2015) It’s one thing to go to prison, but to return to prison is another matter altogether. The good thing is that Wilburn & Wilburn is not going as a law-breaker, but as a guest to minister to the inmates.

Wilburn & Wilburn will be traveling to Angola Prison in east central Louisiana on March 21st to sing and share their testimony to over 6,000 men incarcerated there. This is an annual trip for Father/Son Duo.

This major event is made possible by a dear friend of the group, Glenda Jones. Glenda has been ministering at this prison for over 30 years. Angola Prison has in the past been known to be the most bloody prison in America. This was due to the high number of killings within the walls of this facility.

Facing this terrible reputation a warden came along that understood the need for God in these men’s lives. Warden Burl Cane has given these men the opportunity to not only worship, but he has injected a Bible School into the daily lives of these men. It is now one of the safest facilities in the world.

Wilburn & Wilburn counts it an honor to be able to share their talents and testimony in Angola. They will also be taking part in a special Death Row service during our visit.

Their prayer is that God will use their efforts to help someone. Wilburn & Wilburn consider this to be one of their most important concerts of every year. One of the highlights includes a dinner prepared by the inmates.

Jonathan Wilburn states “I promise that a free meal from these inmates will keep some Gospel singers coming back time and time again! We have a special CD offer to help with the expenses of this trip. If anyone would like to help just log on to www.wilburn2.com and scroll down to the $25 March Maddness special.”

The Louisiana State Penitentiary (LSP, also known as Angola, has the nickname of the “Alcatraz of the South”. It is the largest maximum security prison in the United States with 6,300 offenders and 1,800 staff. The prison houses Death Row for men and the state execution chamber for both sexes are located at the Angola facility.
